Media Release: E-Reps forum gets bigger and better!

Dick Strawbridge

NOVEMBER 2012 saw the first E-reps Forum held in Aberdeen, a diverse mix of industry recognised speakers, workshop sessions, networking opportunities and a range of exhibitors providing products and services to complement effective environment management.

The 2013 E-Reps Forum is going to be even bigger and better.

Although the position of Environmental Reps (E-reps) remains non-statutory, the majority of North Sea operators have recognised the importance of the role, understanding that the driving force for environmental awareness must come from the workforce.

Last year’s forum inspired nearly 200 attendees to go back to the work place armed with new knowledge and practical help, to really make a difference.

As a result of the feedback received from the 2012 E-Reps Forum Review, a number of significant changes have been made to the event including a larger venue and exhibition space as well as increased networking opportunities.

Talisman Sinopec Energy UK Limited will be the main sponsors of the 2013 E-Reps Forum which will be held at the Beach Ballroom on Wednesday 9th October.

Event organiser, Jill Rennie, commented about the sponsorship: “I am delighted that Talisman Sinopec Energy UK will be the event sponsors for E-Reps 2013 as this builds on their involvement at last year’s event and confirms the commitment they have made to the E-Reps role in recent years.”

The event has also attracted a variety of speakers with one of the more well-known being Dick Strawbridge – described as an engineer-inventor, sustainability expert, TV presenter and arguably the owner of the finest moustache in show business – according to his website!

Dick will be one of the key note speakers and will also be hosting a number of workshop sessions in the style of the well-known TV programme he used to present, Scrap Heap Challenge.

He will no doubt provide plenty of light-hearted entertainment as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience gained during his long career.

In direct response to feedback from last year, the 2013 Forum will feature a networking reception to take place immediately after the main event.

Giving all delegates the opportunity to talk to other reps, advisors and exhibitors, the timing of this reception will also give office based colleagues the opportunity to be involved in the Forum if they are not able to attend the main daytime sessions.

Another first for this year’s event is the E-Reps Awards, in recognition of the achievements and advancements that have been made to improve environmental management in the industry.

The winners of the three categories; Outstanding Individual, Green Team and Green Technology, will be presented with their awards at the networking reception to be held in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, adjacent to the Beach Ballroom.

Last year’s E-Reps Forum was an overwhelming success, enabling E-Reps to fulfil their role with additional enthusiasm and confidence, with the knowledge a solid support network is behind them.

The 2013 E-Reps Forum will retain this focus and help drive forward the principal goal of improving environmental performance through workforce engagement.
