Media Release: Oh no it’s not – Oh yes it is! – Eden Court panto cast is complete

Inverness 01 - Greg Powrie - Cinderella at the Eden Court Theatre 2011

THE summer holidays are almost over and it will be panto time again before we know it – in fact, Eden Court’s spectacular family panto, Sleeping Beauty, in already fully cast and audiences this Christmas are in for real treat.

Sleeping Beauty is a classic fairytale and this hilarious Panto version throws into the mix some traditional panto slapstick, some new characters including the hilarious Nanny Knot alongside Muddles the Jester.

There will also be spectacular sets, special effects and brilliant song and dance routines.

Heading the cast as the larger than life Nanny Knot is Greg Powrie who last appeared in panto at Eden Court in 2011 as an Ugly Sister in Cinderella.

He is thrilled to be donning a variety of crazy dresses again this season and spending Christmas in Inverness.

“It doesn’t seem like Christmas without putting on some outrageous costumes and elaborate make-up,” says Greg, before hastily adding all in the name of panto, of course!

Eden Court is a fabulous theatre with audiences that really love their Christmas pantomime and it is always a delight to perform there.”

The dame and comedy sidekick pairing is completed by Arron Usher who will be playing Muddles the Jester. Currently working on projects for the Edinburgh Fringe, Arron is really excited to be appearing in his first Imagine Pantomime this season.

“I adore panto, and Sleeping Beauty is a wonderful show. I last appeared in it at the Glasgow King’s Theatre in 2011 and I am really excited to be appearing in it again this Christmas for Imagine Theatre and the Eden Court – although I may have to brush up on my juggling skills!”

Alongside Greg and Arron are Kirsty Maclaren as the good fairy Azuriel with Marj Hogarth as her wicked sister Carabosse. Carabosse’s sidekick, Gob, is played by Ross Allan, with Lorayne McLucas returning to the Eden Court as the sleeping beauty, Princess Belle.

Donning principal boy clothes will be English actress, Julia Cave, and the cast is completed by James Bryce, who plays the loveable King Bumble.

The show runs from Tuesday 3 December 2013 – Sunday 5 January 2014.

Don’t get caught napping – tickets for Sleeping Beauty are on sale now and are selling well. For more information call the Eden Court box office on 01463 234234 or visit the website www.eden-court.co.uk
