Media Release: Jack Dee, live

A little ray of sleet – JEREMY HARDY

… turns grumpiness into an art form – THE EVENING STANDARD

… top comedy gig * * * * – THE TELEGRAPH

… he delivers his jokes with a precision and passion that you can’t second guess – THE TIMES

AFTER a six-year absence from live comedy tours, Jack Dee has been touring the UK and Ireland to sell-out theatres for the past 18 months.

This autumn he’s on the home run with the final leg of his critically acclaimed tour – still the same Jack, agonising over the slightest of annoyances and misdemeanours of everyday life. The host of the long-running Radio 4 show, I’m Sorry I haven’t A Clue, said he was returning to the road “as he wanted to spend less time with his family”.

So… where’s he been?

Appearing on shows like QI and Shooting Stars, Never Mind The Buzzcocks8 out of 10 Cats and Have I Got News For You. He’s been hosting Radio 4’s legendary, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, recently hosted Sky Atlantic’s new show, Don’t Sit In The Front Row, co-writing and starring in four series of BBC 2’s hit sitcom, Lead Balloon, and writing his memoirs, Thanks For Nothing, which he modestly dedicated to himself: “Without whom none of this would have been possible.”

A brand new DVD – Jack Dee Live! So What? – the first in six years, was recorded at the Hammersmith Apollo in May and will be released by Universal Pictures (UK) on 18th November. Pre-orders now available from www.amazon.co.uk.

Notes to editors

  • Eden Court is the largest multi-arts venue in Scotland. It re-opened in November 2007 following an extensive redevelopment programme, which saw the addition of two purpose built cinemas, a brand new flexible second theatre space and two dance and education studios.
  • Eden Court is the only theatre in Scotland to offer Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) courses in Drama and Dance. These are extracurricular courses, which offer pupils from across Highland the opportunity to study at Eden Court for an SQA Higher Dance, Drama or Intermediate 2 exams. Aside from Eden Court, there is only one school in the Highlands where pupils can sit SQA Higher Drama exams.
