Media Release: Media invite – international yoga guru attends yogarena launch in Glasgow

OVER a thousand people are expected to attend a YogArena launch masterclass today in Glasgow led by internationally acclaimed yoga guru, Swami Ramdev Ji (best known for popularising yoga among health conscious Indians through his mass yoga camps, TV shows and his blessing four years ago on the Island of Little Cumbrae) as part of an ambitious project to promote health and wellbeing around the world.

YogArena [www.yogarena.org] is being launched by Glasgow based charity, Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust, to promote the health benefits of yoga to audiences around the world.

The inaugural event will take place in Glasgow on Monday 23rd September at the new, multi-million pound Emirates Arena.

On the same day, Sunita Poddar, a Trustee of the Patanjali Yogpeeth (UK) Trust, will be unveiling her new book: Yoga for Children, an illustrated yoga manual for children, teachers and parents detailing postures breathing techniques and the educational benefits of yoga practice for children aged eight to 12.

The book comes in the wake of a pilot project undertaken by Sunita Poddar and her husband, in association with Glasgow City Council, to introduce Patanjali yoga practice in Scottish schools.
