Media Release: ThinJack to present unique technology in Houston

Alastair MacDonald, ThinJack

ABERDEENSHIRE-based oil services firm, ThinJack, is to present its market leading technology at a special event in Houston on Tuesday October 8th, 2013.

The technical awareness Lunch and Learn is being hosted by the Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICOTA) and will take place from 11.30am at the Houston Research Center on West Little York, Houston 77041.

The session is open to ICOTA members and non-members but places are limited.

Commenting on the forthcoming presentation, ThinJack director, Alastair MacDonald, said: “We already have a proven track record with the ThinJack service in the US Gulf of Mexico, but there are industry colleagues who remain unaware that ThinJack is the most powerful well flange separation service that fits into the thinnest of gaps – as little as 1mm.”

ThinJack is headquartered at Westhill, Aberdeenshire and specialises in the rigless separation of seized or stuck well flanges.

The service uses patented millimetric-thin steel envelopes which are inflated with up to 36,000 psi of hydraulic pressure to exert hundreds of tonnes of force.

ThinJack deploys specialist equipment and highly-trained technicians anywhere in the world at short notice to separate wellhead flanges which are seized and causing costly delays during well workovers.

The unique ThinJack service is a safe and fast solution for separating and jacking in hazardous, difficult or restricted areas.
