Bank Holiday bonanza as racecourse finishes season with a baaa-ng, including free school sports day games for kids plus free entry for under-18s and all Shauns –

HAMILTON Park is putting the baaa into Baaa-nk Holiday this Monday – and there’s no need to be sheepish with so much free entertainment, racing and games on offer for kids.

September Holiday Raceday with Shaun the Sheep and the Championsheeps is the final meeting of the racecourse’s 2013 season and the scene is set for lots of family fun.

As one of the most popular family days at Hamilton Park, this year’s Bank Holiday event will be better than ever with children’s favourite Shaun the Sheep bringing his special Championsheeps Live fun day.

A school sports day with a twist, the Championsheeps include a host of hilarious farm-themed games such as ‘Shirley’s Sheep Hopper Pie-athlon’, the ‘Naughty Pigs Sack Race’ and the ‘Get Fit With The Flock’ hula challenge as well as many more fun-filled activities.

Alongside the racing, and with prizes to be won, the Championsheeps are a great way, not to mention free, to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.

On the racing front, the day will see the climax of the seasonal awards when the leading owner and trainer for the year will be crowned following the final seven races of 2013.

As always, entry is free for under-18s (under-16s must be accompanied by a paying adult) and to celebrate Shaun the Sheep’s attendance at the raceday, Hamilton Park is also offering free entry to anyone called Shaun (or Sean).

Hamilton Park chief executive, Vivien Kyles said: “As if horse racing wasn’t enough, we’re all geared up for our first ever afternoon of “sheep racing” this Bank Holiday Monday.

“We’re providing this free entertainment to give families a great option for the afternoon, on a day when we know lots of parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents and others are looking for somewhere to take the children without breaking the bank balance.

“Such a busy afternoon of racing and entertainment will help us bring a memorable season to a fitting close – hopefully we’ll see large numbers flock to Hamilton Park next Monday.”

Tickets for the meeting start from just £12 in advance (£13 at the gate) and are available from the Hamilton Park website www.hamilton-park.co.uk or by calling the racecourse office on 01698 283 806.
