Media Release: Ergonomically creative at work

Liz with Prizes

LIZ Cairns, at Creation Station, will now be sitting ergonomically – thanks to entering and winning a competition ran by ErgoCube, ergonomic office furniture and accessories specialists.

Busy working mother, Liz, runs classes for children from six months to 11 years to encourage them in the creative process of using colour, shape and texture.

Liz also runs Family Fun sessions to allow mums and dads to get involved, Arty Parties and events in the Ayrshire area. All this in addition to keeping the family home with Ian and son, Jamie!

As much as Liz enjoys her work, this has had an effect on her back. Attending the chiropractic clinic – Joy of Chiropractic, in Ayr – Liz sat on the Ergohuman and Mirus office chairs.

Finding the chairs comfortable she was keen to have one for herself. Seeing the ‘Can Work Damage Your Health’ competition on social media she entered with high hopes of winning the Ergohuman’s cousin, the Enjoy.

Liz comments: “I have a lot of lifting and carrying equipment which takes its toll and I also sit at a desk in my office for a few hours at least twice a week catching up on admin tasks. My current office chair was second hand, so it will be fabulous to have a new one that is ergonomically designed!”

In addition to the Enjoy office chair (Mesh Office Seating) and ergonomic office accessories, Liz has won some pain relieving products including an Acuball mini, Sore-No-More and Biofreeze, generously donated by Acuball (UK) and the Natremed Group.

The Pain Concern charity also kindly gave a one-year subscription to their Pain Matters publication.

Joy Gill, McTimoney Chiropractor, Joy of Chiropractic Clinic, Ayr comments:

“Doing just about anything for long periods of time has the potential to cause damage to the body. My job as a McTimoney Chiropractor is to find out what an individual is doing and advise them how to help themselves to limit this, to improve their health. This combined with McTimoney Chiropractic treatment decreases the risk of damage.”
