TOP fundraising solicitors firm, Miller Hendry, has announced it will be taking part in Will Aid’s Make A Will Month this November.

Last year, the Tayside firm raised over £9,500 for the Will Aid charities, by writing around 125 Wills for local clients, as part of November 2012’s Will Aid campaign.

By raising so much money for the charity, they topped the fundraising league for Scotland and have high hopes of retaining their position with this year’s campaign. Since joining the scheme Miller Hendry have raised over £38,000.

Will Aid runs every year during November, and participating solicitors waive their fees for drawing up a basic Will, instead inviting their clients to donate to the Will Aid group of charities.

The suggested minimum donation is £90 for a single Will and £135 for a pair of Wills.

The money raised will be shared by the nine Will Aid charities and is used to transform the lives of people in the UK and around the world.

Having an up to date, and professionally written, Will is the only way to put you in control of the final destination of your estate and to make sure you avoid difficulties for your relatives and friends after your death.

Ernie Boath, partner with Miller Hendry, commented: “By making a Will with Will Aid you are protecting your loved ones’ future as well as helping to raise money to support the vital work of the Will Aid charities.

“Far too many people in Scotland die without ever making a Will, not realising the substantial difficulties they could be creating for their family at a time when they should have time to grieve.

“It’s a very small price to pay for peace of mind, and the fact in November all of the money goes to such great causes is all the more reason to do it today.”

The Will Aid charities are: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N.Ireland).
