NORTH-east integrated communications agency, Citrus:Mix, has announced the launch of an events division to complete the firm’s full-service offering – and is celebrating sell-out success with its first function.
The Aberdeen-based company has established a strong track record through its existing public relations, creative marketing, digital media and communications training departments.
Clients in sectors including oil and gas, house building, legal services, charity, sport, property, travel and engineering range from independent companies to international groups.
The new events division is the latest expansion for Citrus:Mix, with Kerry Sutherland joining the agency in the role of events manager.
She is joined in the department by events co-ordinator Coral Smith with additional support from training director Kirstin Gove, who brings vast experience through her role as a presenter and event compere.
Morven Mackenzie, Citrus:Mix managing director, said: “We feel it is the right time to expand the agency. There is a real appetite for innovative events and we are launching with some exciting projects in the pipeline.
“Our integrated approach, which includes dedicated web and social media teams under the digital banner, has enabled us to grow and expand our client base. With the extra dimension provided by the launch of the events division there is a tremendous opportunity to provide the complete package.
“We’re delighted to welcome Kerry to the Citrus:Mix team and will benefit from her expertise, enthusiasm and extensive network of contacts as we drive forward with our plans for the new department.”
The agency will be specialising in inventive corporate events, with an emphasis on bringing the world of professional sport together with business.
A major event in Aberdeen to coincide with next year’s Six Nations rugby campaign is one of the highlights of the initial schedule, with the lunch at The Chester in March to feature a cast of the sport’s legendary figures. The Press and Journal rugby lunch, supporting the Bill McLaren Foundation, sold out within days of tables being released for sale.
Kerry Sutherland said: “The response to the rugby event has been phenomenal and is very encouraging as we look forward to 2014. The team and I are looking forward to challenge of establishing Citrus:Mix in a new area, one with excellent potential for us to really make our mark.
“The agency prides itself on a fresh approach and the events division will be no different.
“My own professional background is diverse and I will be able to transfer my skills to my new role at Citrus:Mix.”
