Pop superstars McFly to join a host of A-list music acts at
December 13 gig at the new SSE Hydro
GLASGOW and the West’s number one commercial radio station, Clyde 1, has today (25 Oct) announced pop-favourites McFly will be performing at this year’s Clyde 1 LIVE concert on Friday 13 December at the SSE Hydro.
Clyde 1 LIVE, in partnership with ROX Diamonds & Thrills, is being held at the stunning new Glasgow venue and will kick off a year of celebrations to mark the station’s 40th birthday.
The McFly boys have been working hard in the studio and make their return with their new single, ‘Love is on the Radio’ (available to download 24 Nov), which will be the first single from their forthcoming sixth album – due out in Spring 2014.
This will be McFly’s second appearance at Clyde 1 LIVE having kicked-off last year’s show with an incredible live performance that blew the audience away.
This year, the band will once again share the stage with some of the hottest A-list pop acts with the following artists already confirmed for the night: The Saturdays, Union J, Rizzle Kicks, Little Mix, Naughty Boy, John Newman, Shane Filan, Tom Odell, Neon Jungle, The Vamps and George Bowie.
The event will be the biggest ever hosted by the station with more than 12,000 music fans expected to pack out the stunning new venue to enjoy a mix of the very best UK pop music. Tickets for the gig are already on sale at ticketSOUP.com / 0844 395 4000.
George Bowie, breakfast show host for 102.5 Clyde 1, said:
“Just when you think Clyde 1 LIVE can’t get any bigger or better, the organisers manage to pull McFly out of the hat!
“The guys from McFly bring so much energy and humour to anything they’re involved in and they’re going to be such a fantastic addition to the line-up.
“The show’s already jam-packed with some of the hottest music acts from across the UK, but I’ve heard there may be even more exciting news to come, so stay tuned to Clyde 1 to hear all the latest updates.
“With the event at the amazing SSE Hydro and a phenomenal list of acts, I can’t put into words how excited I am about this year’s Clyde 1 LIVE. I would recommend any serious pop fans to book their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!”
As Scotland’s largest entertainment venue, The Hydro is the only facility of its scale in the UK built specifically for concerts and will provide a spectacular setting for what is one of the most anticipated Scottish music events of the year.
Clyde 1 Live 2013 builds on the success of the same event held at the SECC for the past three years, with acts such as Calvin Harris, JLS, Labrinth, Jesse J, and Olly Murs having performed.
There will also be a special pre-show charity event this year, where guests will enjoy a unique dining experience and premier concert seats, with all profits going to Clyde 1’s charity, Cash for Kids. Further information can be requested from email@example.com.

After ten massively successful years together, pop superstars McFly return with ‘Love is on the Radio’, available 24 Nov, the first single from their forthcoming sixth album.
Throughout their career to date, McFly have combined their winning, infectious pop and rock songs with their irresistible personalities and humour. This has made them one of the leading lights in the UK’s music scene, with One Direction citing the band as a massive influence.
In 2012, the band commemorated their ‘Memory Lane’ greatest hits compilation by releasing their joint autobiography, ‘Unsaid Things’, which enlightened even the most dedicated fans with its revelations and intimate writing.
They’ve also become TV stars in their own right with winning appearances on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, as well as their own ‘The McFly Show’ special.
We’re delighted to have them back at Clyde 1 Live and can’t wait to see them rock SSE hydro with hits like ‘It’s All About You’ ‘Shine a light’ and ‘Star Girl’.
