TWO new voices are about to hit the airwaves this week with a weekly radio show that blends music, chat and social media.
The one-hour Bish Bash Bosh Show With Dave And Phil will be broadcast live for the first time from midnight on Friday, November 1, on community radio station Pulse 98.4.
Hosted by David Boyes and Phyllis Joyce, it promises to bring a light-hearted, fresh, down-to-earth approach to radio broadcasting.
In one of the novel features of the show, David and Phyllis will monitor geo-located social media messages, allowing them to focus in on relevant local issues and topics of discussion.
David said: “Phyllis and I are hugely excited about our show. Neither of us is from a broadcasting background, so we are jumping right in at the deep end by going live. But we have a fantastic rapport and a concept that will work.
“We love a challenge and something that is new. We have been working on the idea for a number of months, and the time has now come for the wraps to come off.”
Phyllis said: “Even though we will be monitoring local social media activity, we will be using the hashtag #bishbashbosh every week for those who wish to message us directly.”
Pulse, which transmits on the 98.4 FM frequency, is a community radio station based in Barrhead, near Glasgow, broadcasting to East Renfrewshire and South Glasgow and online at www.pulseonair.co.uk.
Pulse is professional in its approach and it has no set music policy, allowing it to give exposure to a wide range of styles and artists.
