Media Release: Israel oil initiative in bid to do business in Aberdeen

UNIVERSAL Oil and Gas (UOG) have invited a former senior adviser from the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, to address key oil and gas executives on the extensive opportunities opening up in the Israeli energy market.

Michal Franco Kedmi, a London-based energy consultant, will deliver the keynote speech at UOG’s Aberdeen-Israel ‘Lunch and Learn’, officially launching UOG 2014 in the UK, said to be the first major international oil and gas exhibition and conference ever to be held in Israel, during November next year.

The event, chaired by Liam Smyth of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, will be held at The Town House in Aberdeen, next Tuesday, the 12th of November, and is hosted by Aberdeen City Council.

It is one of a series of global briefings in the run up to UOG 2014.

Ms Kedmi, who was instrumental in the formation of the Israeli government’s policy on natural gas exports, will highlight the extensive economic potential that strategic partnerships offer Aberdeen-based companies.

“There are already a number of international companies invested in Israel’s energy sector, but we expect the uptake to grow considerably,” said UOG’s chief operating officer, Joshua Beagelman.

“Pioneering Israeli technology means both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons are now increasingly viable options. With the right kind of business development, Israel could rival Qatar and Saudi Arabia in the energy production league.

“Experts are already calling this the New Dawn.”

The Aberdeen-Israel ‘Lunch and Learn’ is one of a series of events taking place in the US, UK and Norway to underline the opportunities opening up on this new production frontier.
