Media Release: Local crime writers double up at The Avenue

LOCAL crime writers, Elly Grant and Zach Abrams, will be at the Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns to discuss their latest books in an event organised by Waterstones at Primavera on Wednesday 20th November between 7pm and 8.00pm.

‘The Unravelling of Thomas Malone’ is a gritty crime thriller written by Elly Grant set in the Govanhill area of Glasgow. The plot centres around Angela Murphy, a detective on the mean streets of Glasgow who, just days into the job, is called to attend the scene of a grisly murder.

To her boss, Frank Martin, there’s something horribly familiar about the scene. Is this the work of a copycat killer? Will he strike again? With limited resources and practically no experience, Angela is desperate to prove herself. But is her enthusiasm sufficient? Can she succeed before the killer strikes again?

Meanwhile, in Zach Abrams’ ‘Made a Killing’, is a fast-moving, gripping crime novel set in the tough crime-ridden streets of Glasgow. The plot centres around Scott Stevenson, a despicable character whom nobody mourns when his bloody corpse is found with an ivory tusk driven through his torso.

DCI Alex Warren and his team are given the challenging task of discovering his killer. They investigate the numerous people Stevenson has harmed and their enquiries reveal a host of related crimes, motivated by sex and greed. They struggle to close the case before more lives are lost.
