AN Aberdeen charity is kicking off Christmas early as it hosts its annual Advert Fair this weekend.

Newton Dee, located in Bieldside, will be opening its community centre doors on Saturday 23 November from 10.30am until 4.30pm, for the fun-filled day, which includes, activities and stalls for all the family.

The charity, which offers supervised accommodation for adults with special and complex needs, will host the open day in its Phoenix Community Centre which was built last year.

The advent fair will have something for everyone including a raffle, several arts and crafts stalls and activities, and hot food will be available throughout the day.

Senior co-worker at Newton Dee, Jacob Vollrath, said: “Our annual advent fair is the perfect way to get people get into the Christmas spirit and always proves to be a very busy weekend at the village.

“It also provides us with the perfect opportunity to let our residents showcase their homemade crafts and food produce that they make daily in our workshops.”

Newton Dee is home to almost 200 residents and co-workers and has an on-site coffee shop, grocery store, bakery, which are open to the public to help continually raise funds for the facility.
