Media Release: Thinking of a Scotland golf tour?

IT is every golfer’s dream to come to Scotland in a tour or a vacation at some point in their golfing career.

Begins a spokesperson: “You don’t have to be a single-figure handicap player nor do you have to have a handicap.

“Many ladies and gentlemen simply enjoy the game an can’t be bothered with the fuss, the complitition and the company they have to endure in order to get this handicap CERTIFICATE!

“However, if you expect to play the major championship venues for example St Andrews Old Course, Muirfield or Royal Troon you may come a little unstuck AS YOU WILL NEED TO PRESENT THE STARTER WITH A VALIID CERTIFICATE before you get near the first tee!

“If this is your objective, then you need to get organised about a year in advance as tee-times are in great demand.

“Oh, and make sure your certificate is 18/24 or less for men and 28/36 for ladies, depending on where you wish to play.”

Adds the spokesperson: “A reputable operator is the best way to proceed. Will they charge you? Yes, but no more than you would expect to pay yourself if you were taking on the task.

“It is a lot of work making the jigsaw fit! Please ensure the operator you chose has valid insurance and accreditation and has certification to take advance credit card payments online.”

And the spokesperson adds: “So, away from the Open Championship venues, there are over a 100 courses in Scotland that are worth a visit.

“Green fees will vary from £25 GBP to £70 GBP for excellent courses that are different from your track at home. The other option is self-drive. It is a marvellous country and to sit back and be driven is a pleasure.

“The people who say it is easy and fun have either spent a lot of time in the preparation or to be honest have got lost and got lucky meeting the friendly Scottish folk!

“We at Scotland for Golf pride ourselves in organising a seamless running of events for couples or larger groups while on tour in Scotland.”
