Media Release: North-east ice hockey team looking for early Christmas gift

The Aberdeen Lynx

ABERDEEN’S premier ice hockey team is looking to add a win to their Christmas wish list, as they get ready for their last game before the festive season.

The Aberdeen Lynx, who compete in the Scottish National League, is calling for some festive fan cheers this Saturday night, as they take on the Belfast Giants at the Aberdeen Linx Ice Arena.

Team captain for the Lynx, Jordan Leyden, said: “The whole team is looking forward to the game on Saturday night and we are really hoping we can grab a win, as we head into the New Year.

“So far, it has been a tough start to the season with a lack of wins, but this Saturday is expected to be an action packed game, so we would love to see all our fans out supporting us by wearing some red or even Santa hats, and hopefully we can give them a Christmas treat.”

The Lynx, who signed new head coach, Rod Ramsay, as well as several new players at the start of the season, are looking to stand tall against the giants and fight for a win this week, which is worth double points.

The Aberdeen Lynx will face off against the Belfast Giants on Saturday, 21 December, at 7pm, at the Aberdeen Links Ice Arena – Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for kids.
