Media Release: Making a business connection through Glasgow PA

ROSEMARY MCLENNAN022

A DEDICATED business network for PAs and office administrators in the Glasgow area is proving to be so successful that it has attracted more than 400 members within the first few months of setting up.

Glasgow PA was established in response to requests from PAs working in businesses in the Glasgow area who had followed the ongoing success of its sister company Aberdeen PA.

Set up by Scottish businesswoman, Rosemary McLennan, in 2010, Aberdeen PA gave companies a platform to promote themselves and their services to PAs while giving the PAs a way of networking with their peers to share advice and information.

“Glasgow PA started operating in August and we already have over 400 members with more joining every day,” said Rosemary.

“It is open to PAs and office administrators working in any type of business or sector and to date our members include PAs working in Glasgow’s universities, at Glasgow Warriors, 200 St Vincent Street, Blythswood Square, House For An Art Lover, Pollok House and across the full range of the Glasgow business community.

“We also have more than a hundred business members and these are companies which have the chance to showcase their services and provide information to the people who are the real powerhouses and decision-makers in any organisation – the PAs.”

Membership of Glasgow PA is free for PAs, office administrators and office managers and members’ benefits include information about local and national suppliers, the opportunity to link to fellow PAs through an online PA Forum and access to a range of exclusive PA member and networking events.

Business members pay a fee which gives them the opportunity keep PAs up to date with new developments and to share information about their products and services, providing an invaluable business tool for office personnel responsible for booking services or purchasing products.

Aberdeen PA is an impressive success story. When Rosemary identified a gap in the market for such a service she took a leap of faith and left her job in corporate hotel sales to set up her company.

Within three years, she signed the 1,000th PA member and now four years on Aberdeen PA has 1,500 members and more than 300 business members.

Business members range from national enterprises including some of London’s top hotels, key retail brands and corporate gift suppliers to local companies from across all business sectors.

Aberdeen PA also holds two annual showcase exhibitions. Exhibitors at the most recent one at the AECC included Harrods, Jo Malone, the Old Course Hotel, Lufthansa and the Royal Yacht Britannia.
