Media Release: College Development Network announces Marketing Awards 2014 shortlist

THIRTEEN colleges from across Scotland have been shortlisted for College Development Network’s Marketing Awards 2014.

The awards are designed to recognise the excellent marketing practice taking place in Scottish colleges and this year the categories have been expanded to reflect recent changes to the sector. In 2013, 41 colleges became 28 as the sector’s regionalisation programme gained momentum.

Lesley Whelan, manager of CDN, said: “Colleges across Scotland have been part of a reform and regionalisation process over the last two years, which for many has meant merger and significant restructuring.

“Marketing teams were faced with the challenge of ‘business as usual’, promoting courses and campuses, while also creating new brands and material for the new institutions.

“This year, we’ve modified the categories to reflect the changes across the college sector.

“We’ve included internal communications in recognition of the sterling work colleges have undertaken in communicating mergers to staff and students.

“From digital marketing to events, prospectuses and integrated campaigns, the standard of entries has been excellent.”

Judges will also announce  a Grand Prix to an outstanding entry at the Spanish-themed awards ceremony.

The Marketing Awards 2014 will take place in Arta, Glasgow on Wednesday 26 February.
