Media Release: Dive centre boost as Danwood Highland enjoys business growth

A HIGHLAND firm has won a £100,000 contract to supply print management services to one of the world’s leading providers of training and subsea trials.

Document solutions firm Danwood Highland has installed 20 devices at The Underwater Centre in Fort William, as part of a five-year Managed Print Service agreement.

Danwood also offers a local, first class service and back up covering the whole of the Highlands & Islands and Moray which is provided by a highly trained team comprising of 14 engineers, trainers, network specialists and IT support from its base at Harbour Road, Inverness.

Director of Danwood Highland, Paul Macleod, said that the contract adds to new business already gained by the company in January and February.

Mr Macleod said: “We have had a successful start to 2014, which represents our best ever opening two months of a calendar year.

“We’re finding that Highland and Moray businesses are showing increased confidence in their own forward prospects and looking to make investment decisions, particularly in the latest technology advances which can increase productivity and save money.”

Mr Macleod also said the company has other significant contracts in the advanced stages of negotiation.

”Lochaber is proving to be another growth area for us and we’re delighted to have secured a new five-year deal with The Underwater Centre, with whom we’ve had a long-standing partnership and who themselves are enjoying success and expansion.”

The Underwater Centre is the only training centre in the world which offers the full range of Health and Safety Executive commercial diving qualifications in air and mixed gas diver training.

It also undertakes training in ROV (remotely operate vehicles).

The Centre recently made nine new appointments.

John Reed, company secretary and IT manager at the Centre, said: ”This contract has provided us with a uniform and efficient print service.

“Danwood have been helpful and accommodating throughout the transition and implementation of this project.”

Other Danwood Highland customers in the locality include Nevis Range, McIntyre & Company Solicitors and Highland Wood Energy.
