Imagine staying in a beautiful cottage steeped in the history of Scottish canals such as the Caledonian Canal by Inverness and the Crinan Canal in Argyllshire where the only traffic-jam is two passing boats. Well now you can, with Cottages & Castles offering bespoke self-catering waterside holidays throughout Scotland available from as little as £57 per night (minimum two nights stay).

There are a number of gems to choose from in the range; all of which have been newly refurbished and are both luxurious and individual.

Real consideration has been given to comfort and style in each of these special properties whilst retaining their original charm and their locations ensure a sense of tranquillity for guests.

Sue Bourne, manager of Cottages & Castles, said: “The properties from Scottish Canals truly are very special indeed and really add something a bit different to the existing selection of properties on our books.

“Each cottage has a beautifully designed interior; attractive colour and pattern schemes create a modern and cheerful feel in each room and a sense of individuality to each property.

“There is an abundance of outdoor activities on your door step at which ever cottage you choose to enjoy.

“Your stay in one of these cottages could happily be spent watching the daily traffic of boats passing through the locks or taking strolls along the scenic canal walks and spotting the local wildlife before retiring in front of a log fire with a good book.
