SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has appointed Sandy Lightbody, co-founder of former Glasgow-based surveying practice, Allison Lightbody, as a commercial agency specialist.

Prior to establishing Allison Lightbody together with David Allison, Lightbody, a graduate from the University of Paisley, had started his surveying career for a major practice before proceeding to work for independent firms in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Commenting on his appointment at Shepherd, Lightbody said: “When my former business partner and myself decided, after 15 years, to go our separate ways and pursue other goals, I was intent on joining a larger surveying practice with a nationwide network and so am delighted to join Shepherd; a progressive, expanding firm which is well-placed to benefit from the momentum building in the commercial property market.

“There is presently more activity in the commercial market across the board, in office, industrial and office sectors throughout the West of Scotland, particularly for good quality properties, and I look forward to working alongside Shepherd’s busy commercial team in Glasgow, advising clients on various acquisition and disposal opportunities.”

Welcoming Lightbody to the firm, Steve Barnett, commercial partner at Shepherd in Glasgow, said: “Sandy’s wealth of experience further enhances our commercial offering throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

“Having earned himself an enviable reputation over many years, the addition of Sandy’s services provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand our local presence even further.”

Shepherd’s commercial property offering in Glasgow and the West of Scotland encompasses all major property types including retail, office, business space and industrial.
