LEADING Aberdeenshire property company, Deveron Homes, has demonstrated a commitment to the preservation of traditional skills thanks to a significant heritage feature at its Cairn View development in Kemnay.
Nestling in the shadow of the local landmark from which it takes its name, Cairn View in Kemnay is Deveron Homes’ flagship Ecosmart development featuring a range of superior homes with a host of environmentally considerate features included as standard.
Solar panels provide almost 90 per cent of each household’s hot water, advanced thermal insulation creates significantly warmer homes and large, spectrally selective windows designed to capture the sun’s rays provide a perfect form of free heat.
During the early stages of development, an old dry stane dyke was identified as a focal point at Cairn View as sales director, Lynne Holburn, explains: “It would have been very simple to just remove it all and clear the ground.
“But, not only did the original old wall provide lots of nooks and crannies for wildlife, birds and insects, we also recognised how useful it would be in helping us to reduce the effects of wind chill within the development.
“We are thrilled at the workmanship of our master builders Donald and Andrew MacKinnon who have worked in partnership with us to create a truly stunning new dyke that also incorporates many of the original stones.”
Lynne added: “Now that Spring is here, we look forward to plenty of local wildlife making this new habitat their home.”
The Cairn View showhome and sales centre are open seven days from 11am to 5pm. For further information call (01467) 641209, (07766) 415064 or email email@example.com
