INVITATION

YOU are warmly invited to the media launch of the 2014 Made in Scotland programme – a curated showcase of high quality performance during the world’s biggest art festival.

Date: Tuesday 27 May 2014

Time: 15:00 – 16:30hrs (to include photocall and speeches)

Venue: The Glasshouse, 2 Greenside Row, Edinburgh EH1 3AA

MADE IN SCOTLAND is a curated showcase of Scottish performance on the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The showcase, which runs across the full period of the Fringe, comprises over 29 different productions across theatre, music and dance.

MADE IN SCOTLAND is a celebration of our homegrown talent and highlights the wealth of theatre, dance and music that is currently being made and produced in Scotland.

A partnership between the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, Creative Scotland, the Federation of Scottish Theatre and the Scottish Music Centre, the showcase is funded by the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund.

Kath Mainland (chief executive, Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society), Laura Mackenzie-Stuart (portfolio manager for Theatre and International, Creative Scotland) and Jon Morgan (director, Federation of Scottish Theatre) will be available to talk about the programme, following the announcement.

Photo Opportunity at 15:30hrs (15:50hrs):

Fiona Hyslop, Scottish Government Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs with Louise Quinn from Biding Time (remix).

Visuals on the day will include:

Louise Quinn wearing a powder blue cardigan and skirt – she will have an ukulele and a black body bag as props. The furniture at the Glasshouse is red and white and modern with a large mask on the back of the white chair. The backdrop of Calton Hill in the background provides a mixture of old with new. We will have a wet weather option on the day.

Please note, the Cabinet Secretary has only a limited amount of time and photographs with her must finish at 15:50hrs. We will have our own photographer, Colin Hattersley, on the day – his photographs will be made available for media use from 16:45hrs.

Refreshments will be served.
