CHARDON Trading has purchased Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile and Holiday Inn Express Dunfermline from CHGF for an undisclosed sum with funding from RBS.

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile offers value city centre accommodation with 78 fully air-conditioned guestrooms, whilst Holiday Inn Express Dunfermline is a multi-award winning budget hotel offering 82 guestrooms which, in common with Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh Royal Mile, offers free, high-speed internet access and free breakfast.

Both hotels were originally built and managed by Chardon Management, the independent hotel management company founded by renowned hospitality sector entrepreneur, Maurice Taylor, which was acquired last year for an undisclosed sum by Interstate Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s largest independent hotel management companies.

Both hotels continue to be managed by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Chardon Trading managing director, Nicola Taylor, said: “We’re delighted to secure the acquisition of these two hotels, which sit well within our existing portfolio which includes: Holiday Inn Expresses in Glasgow Theatreland, Perth and Edinburgh Airport and Holiday Inn Glasgow.

“These purchases would not have been made possible without the assistance of RBS, with which we have enjoyed a productive business relationship dating back to 1972.”

Agness Nairn, director, Corporate Coverage, RBS, said: “We are delighted to be able to support this leading Scottish company. We have a long and valued relationship with the Taylor family and look forward to working closely with them to help in their continuing success.”
