Kayleigh Hanley pops open the bubbly with DJ Knoxy and celebrates booking trip to take her boyfriend from the Barracks to the beach

BIRTHDAY girl, Kayleigh Hanley from Ibrox, is looking forward to a sizzling summer of sunshine as she starts planning the holiday of a lifetime after winning £10,000 with Clyde 1’s Weans World competition.

Kayleigh, a credit controller from Glasgow, got the winning call the week of her 25th birthday and promptly started her celebrations early.

As well as turning 25 in true style, Kayleigh was able to phone her boyfriend Kevin Mitchell in Tidworth and tell him he’d be coming home from the army to a fantastic summer holiday.

Kayleigh has revealed that it will take a lot to top this birthday surprise. She said: “I was completely shell-shocked when I found out I was Clyde 1’s Weans World competition winner.

“I got the call the week of my 25th birthday and it’s fair to say it’s going to be hard to top this birthday surprise – it’s not every day that someone phones to let you know you’ve won £10,000!

“I’m absolutely over the moon but I have to keep pinching myself just to double check I’m not dreaming! I’ve booked a holiday in July and am really looking forward to a couple of weeks in Tenerife with my wee girl Ava and Kevin.”

For the week-long text competition, Clyde 1 listeners had to guess what famous Glasgow landmark various local children were describing before the jackpot winner was announced this week.

Diane Knox, aka Knoxy, Clyde 1 presenter, said: “At Clyde 1, we feel it is really important to be connected to our listeners and one of the ways we do this is by running fun competitions and offering big cash prizes. This year, we’ve already given away £64,000 to our listeners across Glasgow and the west and we don’t intend to stop there!

“Weans World is just the latest in a long line of successful competitions this year – all with local winners. Not only did the competition generate a fantastic response from our audience but we were also able to treat another happy listener from Glasgow and the West with a £10,000 cash prize.

“We’re all so happy for Kayleigh and really hope that she enjoys spoiling Ava, Kevin and the rest of her family. We look forward to hearing all about her trip this summer!”
