VICTIM Support Scotland’s National Helpline and Glasgow service will have extended operating hours for the period of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The National Support Centre (NSC) helpline on 08456 039213 will operate Monday to Friday 08.00 – 22.00 and Saturday/Sunday 10.00 – 14.00.
The Glasgow service will have staff and volunteers available to provide support as required by referral from the NSC: at the following times: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.00 and Saturday/Sunday 10.00 – 14.00.
David Sinclair, VSS head of communications, said it was likely with so many additional visitors to Scotland for the Games that there would be individuals or families who would require the free and confidential support that the charity offers to victims and witnesses of crime.
He said: “We want everyone to enjoy the Games but to have the knowledge that our staff and voilunteers are there to support anyone who needs our assistance.”
