Media Release: Acona announces significant step forward with key client

ONE of the world’s leading well engineering consultancy firms has consolidated its relationship with a major operator in the UK and Norway, thanks to the award of significant contracts.

Acona Group has announced a step forward in its long-standing relationship with BP Norge and BP UK thanks to the securing of a five-year frame agreement for consultancy services with BP Norge, and a contract to deliver performance service for BP UK as part of its well delivery process.

The agreement is scheduled to run until the end of 2015, with three, one-year extension options and currently involves Acona personnel working on the Paul B. Lloyd Jr and Ensco 101 rigs in onshore and offshore roles.

The project is managed by Acona AS in Bergen and run by Acona UK with resources supplied from Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth.

The Acona Group is based in Norway and offers a flexible talent pool of more than 240 top consultants to the upstream oil and gas industry. The company set up its Aberdeen office earlier this year, enhancing services previously available from Great Yarmouth.

Commenting on the news, Acona chair, Ketil Lenning, said: “This news demonstrates that uniting forces between Acona’s UK offices is working to the benefit of company and client alike.

“We look forward to working with BP on both sides of the North Sea and are very pleased to see the synergies between our offices in the UK and in Norway.”

He added: “We strongly believe that the flexibility of our organisation and the range of services we offer to the operators within drilling and well and field development, in addition to environment and HSEstudies, will continue to secure our stronghold both in Norway and the UK as well as in other locations around the world.”
