Media Release: Moray Council welcomes amendment to potholes survey findings

PublicRelationsToUse

MORAY Council welcomes a correction to a story about potholes in roads which wrongly claimed that it had paid out more – percentage-wise – than any other Scottish local authority, in claims made by vehicle owners.

It follows an announcement issued by the RAC.

In reality, the council had paid out just one claim of £400 in the last two years, with the error being put down to a ‘transcribing error’.

Moray Council welcomes the corrected figures on the RAC website.

A spokesman for the council said: “Moray Council area roads are not immune to pothole problems but consistently in the top three in independent condition surveys

“Our residents will have gained a false picture of how we and our insurers deal with compensation claims, which we are glad to be able to put right.”
