RUN 4 IT, the specialist running retailer, has been named Best Independent Retailer and Best for Customer Service at the annual UK Running Awards.
The awards were held in the O2 on Friday night in London.
Says a spokesperson: “The Running Awards are the only awards programme where runners and consumers nominate and vote for their favourite products, brands, publications, sports retailers and events. Entry and success is solely down to public vote.”
Established in 2004 by running enthusiasts and entrepreneurs Duncan Riddoch and Ian White, Run 4 It now boasts seven stores across Scotland plus an active online store.
Marking 11 years in business this week, these special accolades have come hot on the heels of their tenth anniversary celebrations last year.
Duncan Riddoch, director of Run 4 It, commented: “Ian and I are absolutely delighted.
“We have our fantastic customers and suppliers to thank for their initial nominations and for taking their time to vote for us, and to the 75 team members across our business who work hard every day to ensure we are the best at what we do.
“They are always pushing the boundaries to deliver excellence and these awards are, without a doubt, theirs to celebrate.
“Run 4 It has always kept the customer at the heart of the service we deliver and, while many retailers have chosen to compete on other factors, we believe that listening to customers and ensuring we stock exceptional products to enhance and improve their running are at the heart of what we do.
“Our great teams are key to this. These awards are confirmation that our hard work is recognised and valued by those who matter most: our loyal customers.”
Specialising in serving the needs of a growing and active running community in both Scotland and across the UK, Run 4 It has bucked the retail trends of recent years, continuing to innovate and placing exceptional customer service at their core.
Their strategy for putting the customer at the heart of everything they do has clearly had an impact, with their customers not only nominating them for Best in Customer Service, but by voting in their thousands to help them take both titles.
Around 1,000 guests attended the awards, presented by the BBC’s Mike Bushell, at the O2 in London, celebrating alongside some of the biggest brands in running.
