Revolutionary New Pain Treatment Launched in Scotland

A revolutionary new treatment for pain sufferers is being launched this week in Scotland after research showed it cuts pain by up to 100%.

Dynamic Release was tested on elderly pain sufferers during a programme co-funded by Glasgow Health Board and Glasgow City Council. The study of over 65s showed that the therapy is highly effective in relieving musculoskeletal pain after only one or two sessions.

Paulo Quadros, founder of pain management centre Intlife and member of the Parliamentary cross-party group for chronic pain, is now releasing the therapy to the general public offering free treatments from today until 1 September.

Quadros said: “Dynamic Release is the core therapy within the pain management services we offer.  Our approach has shown that in some cases 90 to 100% pain relief can be achieved within only one session.”

Quadros said: “It is well known that the over 65’s are one of the most difficult patient groups to treat, particularly because of presented multiple conditions. As the study has shown that Dynamic Release works for this age group, I am certain the principles can be applied successfully to all pain sufferers.”

The therapy, which took 15 years to develop, aims to affect the mechanisms that regulate muscle tone and unconscious tension within the brain and muscles to relieve pain. Physiologically, Dynamic Release affects the release of internal chemicals that control how we feel and how we respond to them.

Quadros already offers his services free of charge to deprived areas in Scotland by reinvesting profits from paying customers into poorer areas.

Quadros said: "As a private company we’re able to sell our services and make a profit. However, as a Community Interest Company, we reinvest that profit to make a real difference.

“I set up the business to help people in pain and I realise that some of those people may not necessarily be able to pay for alternative treatments. The plan is to take our expertise to deprived areas, get socially involved and educate people about various aspects of pain management.

“Often it is the deprived areas that require services such as ours. Those who are missing work or are unemployed altogether because of pain are the people we are reaching out to.”

Case Study

Thomas Tedford, self-employed bricklayer

Quadros aims to treat 300 patients per year, one of whom was self-employed bricklayer Thomas (Tam) Tedford. After suffering with chronic shoulder pain for several months he sought Quadros’ services.

Tam said: “After going back and forth within the NHS I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder by my GP and prescribed strong anti-inflammatory medication. They left me worn out, angry and at times depressed. I couldn’t relax, play bowls, work, I couldn’t do anything, and worst of all I was taking it out on my family.”

Quadros said: “Tam’s case is pretty typical unfortunately. We treated him with a combination of therapies which included Dynamic Release. I’m happy to say that after three session he’s completely pain free– I even heard he won a bowls competition which says a lot.”
