It’s Going to be Bedlam for Farmers!

It’s going to be bedlam for farmers – that’s because Edinburgh-based Bedlam Group, which operates Scotland’s premier paintball venues at sites in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, is seeking farmers with suitable land for new paintball locations as it aims to grow the operation throughout the UK and into Europe.

Roman Rock, MD of Bedlam Group, said, “Bedlam was formed 18 years ago from land leased from a farmer outside Edinburgh and we’ve grown on that basis ever since. In addition to our base at South Queensferry, Edinburgh, we also have sites on farmland at Kirkintilloch, outside Glasgow, and at Edzell, between Aberdeen and Dundee.

“Ideal land for use as a paintball site should run to two or three acres and include a varied terrain, with some woodland and water to facilitate a variety of themed games. Leasing such land to Bedlam can be an easy way for farmers to earn income from land unsuitable for agricultural use.”

Already hosting more than 20,000 players a year, Bedlam’s current turnover is £1.2 million. The Group anticipates achieving a 40% growth in that figure over the next 12 months through significant investment and expansion of its facilities, offices and the recruitment of key staff members.

The most professional operation of its kind in Scotland, Bedlam is the only paintball company in Europe that holds the coveted Investors in People accreditation. In addition to being an accredited member of The UK Paintball Sport Federation, Bedlam has accreditation from VisitScotland.

The Bedlam Group also operates Nationwide Paintball, a booking agency with 100 sites throughout the UK.
