My Top 20 – Atholl Duncan

Continuing an editorial strand started earlier this week, head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland, Atholl Duncan, shares his top 20 blogs, websites, iPhone Apps, software tools, etc – with BBC websites and blogs comprising the first six.

The first My Top 20 was from Edinburgh-based producer and director of advertising campaigns, Tim Maguire, with former Scottish Television reporter, Bob Cuddihy, providing the second.

1. BBC Scotland News – website – “Simply Scotland’s biggest and best source of news.”

2. Democracy Live – website – “Recently-launched site which revolutionises our access to the political process.”

3. Brian Taylor's Blog – blog – “Braces Brian’s blog. Best insight to Scottish politics. Always balance and insightful despite too many mentions of Dundee United.”

4. Douglas Fraser's Blog – blog – “A new entry for me as a place to pick up insight on business and economics which you can't get elsewhere from the BBC.”

5. Robert Peston's Blog – blog – “Simply the best place to find out which Scottish bank is about to go bust.”

6. BBC Editors - blog – “A good way of explaining to the audience why we do what we do.”

7. Hibs.Net – message board – “The top site for Hibs gossip and often the place to find out what is new with the table-topping Hibees.”
