Teenage-run news site secures Salmond exclusive

AN online newspaper run by a group of teenagers in the north-east of Scotland has today published an exclusive article by Fist Minister, Alex Salmond, who – in addressing his remarks to an anticipated audience of mainly young people – writes of his wish that the voting age is lowered to 16.

NND Scotland also operates as a press and picture agency and comprises Scott Campbell and Nathan Adam, both 14, Kyle Thornton, 15, and Conor McKay, 18.

Says Campbell: “We’ve provided pictures to a number of newspapers and websites, both national and local. The news website can be found at NNDScotland.com.

“We contacted Mr Salmond’s press office a few months ago requesting a guest post, and they were more than happy to help.

“In the run up to the General Election, it’s good to see that Alex Salmond is using new mediums to connect with voters and explain political process. We are currently working with other political party leaders to receive articles.”
