PJ Harvey Wins Critics' Vote

PJ Harvey's Let England Shake has emerged the top-rated music album of the year, according to critics and a website devoted to aggregating the ratings awarded to new releases.

AnyDecentMusic – which has undergone a slight revamp – is the side business of Edinburgh-based newspaper designers, Palmer Watson, whose recent work has been mainly for Scandinavian clients.

In the annual AnyDecentMusic.com comprehensive summary of the best albums of the year – compiled from nominations by music reviewing publications in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and Ireland – Harvey's LP outstripped second-placed Bon Iver's self-titled album by a huge margin.

Among the sources used by ADM to aggregate album ratings are The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and Scots arts and music titles, The Skinny and Clash.
