Page pockets Perth

THE owner of a radio station covering Lanarkshire has received approval to operate a FM radio station for Perth.

Mark Page’s L107 is to be joined by Perth FM, and although the former Radio One DJ was the only applicant for the Perth licence, there was no guarantee that Ofcom would grant it to him.

His application promised to provide “a high quality service of local news, topical information and entertainment designed specifically for the Perth area, combined with a broad mix of popular music”.

Perth has an adult population (aged 15+) of around 60,000. The proposed frequency is 106.6FM and the licence lasts 12 years.
