Real Radio owners snap up rival, Saga

THE ownership of Glasgow radio station, Saga 105.2 FM, is now in the hands of the company that runs Real Radio Scotland.

It follows a purchase yesterday of the Saga Radio Group by the Guardian Media Group.

Saga Radio currently operates three radio services in the UK – two in the Midlands of England, along with the one in Glasgow – with a fourth due to launch across the North-east of England next year. The three Saga stations currently on air attract 849,000 adults and deliver 9.7 million listening hours.

Following this acquisition, GMG Radio now owns 12 major FM stations.
