Radio race pairing go through final warm-up

A SCOTTISH radio DJ and a radio group managing director have been limbering up at Scottish motor racing circuit, Knockhill, ahead of taking part in one of the world’s most eccentric races, from New York to Los Angeles.

The coast-to-coast race – part of the Cannonball Run series – will see 96.3 Rock Radio’s breakfast show presenter, Kieron Elliott, and Billy Anderson, managing director of GMG Radio Scotland, get behind the wheel of a 600bhp Saleen Mustang – the winning prize for the first driver across the finish line.

And, as preparation, the pair visited Knockhill for an afternoon of advance speed driving training.

Says Knockhill’s Alastair Fraser: “Kieron and Billy are tackling this daunting and exciting challenge in a fabulous and very fast car and, as GMG is one of Knockhill’s major sponsors, we felt the least we could do was to offer some valuable hands on training and instruction at our centre for driver excellence, which hopefully will help to keep them safe and out of trouble.”
