Marketing prize for Glasgow Caledonian University

THE marketing department at a Scottish university has been named the best of its type in the higher education sector.

At the UK-wide HEIST awards, celebrating higher education marketing, Glasgow Caledonian University came out tops.

GCU’s marketing and communications director, Alison Steel, accepted the award on behalf of her 14-strong team, which includes marketing, market research, web development, web marketing, print and publications and PR.

She said: “This is tremendous testimony to the hard work of everyone who works in marketing and communications, but also to the many people at Glasgow Caledonian and in external agencies who support them.”

The university also took silver medals in the Student Recruitment Website and the Alumni/Fundraising Campaign categories.
