Film Festival PR Contract Goes to Capital Agency

An Edinburgh-based agency has won the contract to provide PR support to the city's international film festival.

Says Burt Greener, in a statement it has issued, it beat off five rivals to win the pitch and it will “be responsible for the management of a busy programme of media relations, city engagement and press office activity in the run up to this year’s Edinbugh International Film Festival in June”.

It adds: “[We] will also provide additional support for the Centre for the Moving Image, the parent company of EIFF, Edinburgh Filmhouse and Film Guild, that acts as a national hub for moving-image activity in Scotland.”

It continues: “The agency’s appointment is a significant part of the development of EIFF’s 2011 blueprint, which will see a fresh focus on the creation of film experiences for all in Edinburgh while preserving the festival’s role at the forefront of the international film industry. The 65th EIFF will retain its industry focus and premiere new movies – but it will also evolve in terms of both content and format. By celebrating global film through pioneering new strands, guest curators and innovative events it will seek to capture the imagination of film lovers of all ages.”

The film festival is taking place between Jun 15 and 26.
