Promotions for Clark and Macdonald at Weber Shandwick

The joint deputy managing directors at one of Scotland's best-known PR agencies, Weber Shandwick Scotland, have been promoted, as part of what is being described by the company as a “strategic restructure”.

Lesley Clark has been promoted to the role of vice-president client services (international), while Moray Macdonald has been made managing director of Weber Shandwick Scotland.

Clark's promotion is, says a statement issued by the company, “to service the needs of the company’s growing portfolio of clients whose accounts are being handled internationally from Weber Shandwick’s Scotland offices”.

The statement continues: “Lesley will be responsible for international business development and multi-site team management, co-ordinating the implementation and delivery of international programmes across Weber Shandwick’s global network of 128 wholly owned and affiliate offices. In the past six months alone, the consultancy has achieved a significant number of new business wins from blue chip and multi-national companies who wish to expand their marketing and reputation engagement strategies in overseas markets, using a ‘local’ communications consultancy.

“Moray will assume operational responsibility for Weber Shandwick’s four Scottish offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Inverness. The company employs over 50 people in its Scottish operation. He will also spearhead the company’s growing digital and social media service offerings north of the border. Moray will remain as head of public affairs in Scotland in addition to his new role.”

Clark is chair of the Institute of Directors in Edinburgh, newly elected chair of the Scottish Public Relations Consultants Association and sits on the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Transport Committee.
