New chair appointed at Marketing Society Scotland

THE Scottish division of the Marketing Society has appointed a new chair.

Alan MacKenzie, head of customer communications for Clydesdale and Yorkshire banks, suceeds Glen Gribbon, whose two years in office has come to an end.

The Society has also chosen, as its vice-chair, Helen Campbell, head of UK and Ireland marketing at VisitScotland.

MacKenzie started his career in publishing, before moving into marketing over 20 years ago. His work has been predominantly in financial services and he has won several awards, including gold at the European Council for Sales Promotion and a Grand Prix title at the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. He was this year awarded a Marketing Society Fellowship.

Glen Gribbon is managing director of Vets Now.

Says Graeme Atha, director of Marketing Society Scotland: “I am thrilled that Alan and Helen will be taking on the roles of chair and vice Chair. I will be working closely with them both over the next few months to agree the Marketing Society Scotland plans for 2012.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Glen for his significant contribution in his role of chair. Glen has helped us to develop an inspiring vision for the Society in Scotland in building a world-class marketing community and has helped ensure wide ranging support from the business community in Scotland.”
