Stewart appointed communications director for Yes Scotland

THE director of corporate communications at the University of Glasgow has been appointed director communications at the Yes Scotland campaign urging a yes vote in the upcoming referendum, in two years’ time, on Scottish independence.

Susan Stewart is among several appointments announced today by the campaign.

Before taking her post at Glasgow seven years ago, she was First Secretary, Scottish Affairs, at the British Embassy in Washington DC – the Scottish Government’s first dedicated diplomat in the US.

She is also a former depute head of media at the Scottish Executive, chief media and public information officer at Glasgow City Council and press and parliamentary officer at Strathclyde Regional Council.

She began her career as a political journalist with Scottish Television.
