A MONTH after helping to promote a service aimed at reducing the risk of children chatting to paedophiles on the internet, the media interview requests are still coming in from around the world to the Glasgow offices of PR agency, Weber Shandwick.
Next week, for instance, sees Australian’s radio station, SYN FM 90.7, based in Melbourne, among the latest to want to speak to Scots software entrepreneur, Alex Hewitt – being respresented by Weber Shandwick – who has set up an ID card system aimed at rooting out adults who should not be on internet chat sites for kids.
Hewitt set up the ID sceheme after discovering that his daughter could only verify the age and identity of only a third of her 150 online friends.
NetIDme involves strict vetting of people’s identity before they can be verified as kids.
