Website templates launched by newspaper publisher

THE first of what is expected to be a series of new-look websites has been unveiled by Edinburgh-based newspaper publishers, Johnston Press.

According to the website, Hold the Front Page, which Johnston has a stake in, two test sites have been launched which are expected to pave the way for the publisher’s other titles.

The two sites are the Peterborough Evening Telegraph’s www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk and the Halifax Courier’s www.halifaxcourier.co.uk.

Paul Green, group editorial content manager for Johnston Press digital publishing, is quoted saying the new sites have been designed to be easier to read and search.

It’s not known to what extent the website of The Scotsman – which Johnston Press also own and is its flagship newspaper title – will be expected to follow the same template.
