Scottish PR agency enjoys good vibes

A LEADING Scottish public relations consultancy has retained the account for a top environmental awards scheme and, at the same time, has appointed a new account manager.

After a four-way pitch, Weber Shandwick Scotland successfully held on to the Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland (VIBES) awards scheme, and has appointed Nic White from rivals, BIG Partnership.

The agency says it has provided media relations support to VIBES for the past four years and will continue to raise awareness of the awards in a bid to increase the number of entries.

Adds Weber Shandwick Scotland managing director, Nora Farrell: “Retaining existing clients is an excellent endorsement for our business as it proves we are delivering a high standard of work.

“The VIBES awards are highly respected by the business community and, with companies facing increasing pressure to reduce their impact on the environment, it is important to reward good practice.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with VIBES.”

White, who joins the Glasgow office of Weber Shandwick, spent seven years as a journalist, starting his career in local newspapers in London before joining Sportsbeat, one of the UK’s leading sports news agencies.

Latterly, he was deputy sports editor of the Scottish edition of Metro.
