Broadband access bourgeoning

YESTERDAY, Spike reported that UK advertising spend on the web had overtaken that on newspapers.

And a report issued within a few hours, by broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, helped illustrate why: over half of all UK adults have broadband access to the internet at home.

According to the Digital Progress Report, broadband access is up from 39 per cent last year and indeed is up seven-fold over the last four years.

More than 13 million UK homes and small and medium-sized enterprises are now connected to broadband, compared with 9.9 million twelve months ago and 330,000 six years ago.
