Currie favours discretion

EVENING Times’ political editor, Brian Currie, was being admirably discreet in his column on Friday, when he made reference to a newspaper bill from a few days’ previously.

He began: “The relationship between Holyrood and Westminster is much worse than anyone could have imagined if a newspaper bill at the beginning of the week is anything to go by. It read: ‘Salmond set for nuclear war’.”

He continued: “Thankfully, it was only a reference to the difference of opinion between the new First Minister and the government over the future of nuclear energy.”

But which newspaper was behind the rather OTT bill? Currie declined to say. Perhaps because it was Evening Times’ sister title, The Herald.
