Vaughan steps into vacuum

A SCOTS film director has been dispatched to complete a movie starring Cameron Diaz.

Glasgow-born Tom Vaughan is stepping in to finish ‘What Happens in Vegas’, which has Ashton Kutcher also appearing.

His arrival on the set follows original director, Julian Farino, having to drop out to direct another movie, ‘The Year of Living Biblically’.

It is an opportunity for Vaughan to build on the success of his recent debut movie, ‘Starter for Ten’, based on the David Nicholl novel of the same name.

He will direct from a script by Dana Fox. The film is about two strangers who wake up to discover they got married sometime during the previous night’s drunken festivities, with one of them winning a huge jackpot on the other’s quarter dollar. The couple set out to undermine each other and claim the coin, only to fall in love along the way.

The film is being produced for Fox by Dean Georgaris and Michael Aguilar.
