25 million reasons to crow about new TV series

WHEN a local newspaper in India learned that a Scottish TV crew had arrived in the region – for what was to be a five-week shoot – the call was soon made, requesting an interview.

The BBC Scotland crew were in Andhra Pradesh, making a 20-part series of the award-winning children’s adventure show, Raven, for Children’s BBC, and the producer agreed to give an interview to ‘Eenadu’, described as a ‘local’ newspaper.

Freelancer, Dougie Napier, explained to the newspaper journalist what Raven was all about and why they were filming in India.

And at the end, it was time for Dougie to ask a question: what’s the newspaper’s circulation?

Only 25 million, he was told.

p.s. ‘Raven – The Secret Temple’ is being broadcast on CBBC in August.
