City centre move for publishing company

A DESIGN and publishing company set up by two former Trinity Mirror executives has relocated to a new HQ – in Glasgow.

Planet Ink Ltd, which was launched 18 months ago in Ayr by Shaun Milne and Gerry Cassidy, has taken up residence at 111 Union Street, in the city.

The move is described as “part of aggressive expansion plans for 2008 as we push our digital capabilities, including on-screen page-turn titles capable of hosting audio and video feeds, offering to reduce both print costs and the ‘carbon footprint’ for our clients”.

As well as digi-mags, the company now prints more than a million units a year, including newspapers, magazines, marketing folders and special publications for a range of clients.

Cassidy is an ex-deputy features editor of the Daily Record, while Milne is a former assistant editor of the Scottish Mirror and ex associate news editor at the Record.

They have also promoted former Record artist, Derek Bryce, from art editor to creative director.
